Dr Michalis Maimaris

Dr Michael Maimaris graduated from the Medical School of University of Pisa (Italy) in 1982. After graduation from the Medical School, he interned in General Surgery and then in Thoracic Surgery in Rome (1982-1988). He was accredited with the Diploma of Specialization in Thoracic Surgery at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” (Italy) with votes 70/70. He is authorized by the Italian Government to practice the profession of Medical Surgeon and has a Doctorate diploma in Medicine and Surgery. His Doctorate thesis was about «Tracheal and Carina Reconstruction». He worked as Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Department of Nicosia General Hospital from 1989 to 2017. From 2012 until 2017 he was the Director of the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Department. During these years he attended several courses and training sessions abroad. From 2017 -2020 he had a private practice. From 2017-today he is an associate doctor in American Institute of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery (AIMIS clinics, Limassol) and from 2020-today he continues his practice as a Thoracic Surgeon at Evangelistria Medical Center in Nicosia.
