Dr Ilias Porfyridis

Ilias Porfyridis, born in 1975 in Thessaloniki, studied medicine at the Medical School of University of Thrace. He was specialized in Pulmonology at the 1st Department of Critical Care and Pulmonary Services, University of Athens, ‘Evangelismos’ Hospital in 2009 and received his PhD in 2011. He specializes in advanced interventional pulmonology (IP) procedures and is currently a European Respiratory Society (ERS) instructor in IP techniques. In 2009 he moved to Cyprus and until 2021 was a consultant at the Pulmonary Department of Nicosia General Hospital and head of the IP unit. Since Jul 2021, he is a private doctor and head of the Interventional Pulmonary Department of Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center. He is a member of the Cypriot and Hellenic Respiratory Societies, the European Respiratory Society, the World Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pneumonology and ex national delegate of Cyprus at the European Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pneumonology. He does research in the field of pulmonology and has publications in international medical journals and announcements in international medical congresses.
